If drivers and/or managers report issues with not getting Automatic Duty Status

Changes (ADSC), the truck isn’t tracking on the Vehicles Page map (shows Signal

Lost, or has incorrect fuel/odometer/speed), use these steps to first power-cycle the

device and verify power and lights.

Troubleshooting

1. Fully key on the engine to trigger the M3 to power on.

2. Remove necessary panels to make the M3 and lights visible.

a. If the device powers, you will hear a series of beeps as the device restarts

and may do so more than once. Leave on for at least 15 min for updates to

complete.

b. After 15 min, fill in M3 Status and Cable Setup sections below.

PWE - Should be rapidly flashing green when engine is on.

GPS - Should be solid red (will cut in and out based on connectivity).

Cellular - Should be sold red (will cut in and out based on cellular connectivity).

Not common below:

WIFI - Should be off, unless your VDAs are broadcasting.

Bluetooth - Only on when connected to a tablet

c. If all lights on the M3 are operating as they should (details in M3 Status

section), skip to Verification Steps and Cleanup.

d. If lights are not as they should be, proceed to Component Isolation

3. Unplug M3 and leave disconnected for 5 min to allow residual power to drain.

4. Inspect DLC port pins. Mark any damage in Pin Inspection section.

a. If any pins are damaged, replace M3. If none are damaged, proceed.

5. Plug the M3 back in and follow Verification Steps.

Component Isolation

In this section replace each individual component in the order listed below. After any

component replacement, perform Verification Steps section in order, as they

succeed. If any Data Check steps fail, resume component isolation. Only perform a

Drive Test if all Data Check steps succeed.

1. First, replace any converter cables (Y-Splitter, RP1226 converter, Mack/Volvo

kit, etc.)

2. Next, replace the M3’s DLC power cable.

3. Lastly, replace the M3 and mark what needed to be replaced in the Resolution

section below.

Verification Steps:

Drive Test

These steps are to be performed while logged into the Maven app. If ADSC is not

achieved, resume component isolation.

1. Ensure engine is fully keyed on.

2. Log into the Maven Mobile Application with either a shop or a driver account.

3. In the Maven mobile app, tap the truck icon in the upper right corner, search,

and tap for the desired vehicle.

4. Once connected you will see a green “Cloud Connected” to show the truck is

checked out.

5. If the vehicle does not have a valid M3 paired in the Vehicle Admin page in Fleet

Administration, you will see an alert.

6. Move the vehicle over 5mph for 15 seconds or more to trigger Automatic Duty

Status Change (ADSC).

a. If ADSC is not achieved after 1 minute, and all lights are as they should be,

contact support for further troubleshooting.
