With Maven Machines, you are able to edit logs from both the app and the fleet portal. Unlike edits made on the app, the web portal can be used to amend driving time, making it a highly useful tool for managers. This article will cover the various features of editing logs from the fleet portal.

  1. How to Find the Edit Screen
    1. Once you are logged into the Maven fleet portal, please select "hours of service" from the column on the far left.
    2. Select the driver whose logs you wish to edit.
      1. Tip: you can use the filters to the left of your drivers' names to search for logs from specific days and drivers, as well as to find logs that have violations, requested or pending edits, etc.
    3. Once you have selected a driver, look below the bar graph on the right hand side and select "edit logs".
  2. How to Insert a Duty Status
    1. Inserting a duty status allows you to set the start time, end time, duty status, and location of an event. In order to access this feature from the edit screen, please select the option "insert duty status" from the right hand side.
    2. Please select your duty status type, start and end time, and location from here.
      1. If you are inserting a drive status, the location should be the place the driver started to drive from.
      2. When entering the start and end time, you can either type a time into the slot or select a time from the drop down menus.
      3. IMPORTANT: if you would like a status to extend past midnight (ex. a driver was in Off Duty from 3 pm until 11 am the next day), set the end time as "End of Day".
    3. Enter a note in the "admin note" slot.
    4. Select "Confirm Insertion" once you are finished.
  3. Simple Edits: Changing Start Times, Locations, and Duty Status Types
    1. Sometimes you merely need to tweak a pre existing duty status, and not insert a whole new one. Without going into the "insert" screen, you are able to edit the start times of events, event locations, and event duty status types.
    2. In order to change start time, click the time stamp on an event. This will allow you to either type in a new time, or select a new time from a drop down menu.
    3. Similarly, in order to change a location, simply click on the location slot  and type your desired location.
    4. In order to change duty status type, click on the colored "Type" square. It will change every time you click, allowing you to cycle through duty status types and find the desired one.
      1. Note, you cannot use this to change a drive status to a non driving status. So, for example:
        1. "Drive" statuses can be changed to "on duty yard moves" or "personal conveyance".
        2. Non driving statuses can only be changed to one another; "on duty", "off duty", and "sleeper birth".
  4. Adding a Daily Log Exception
    1. Please select the "Add Exception" button to the right of the screen.
    2. This will generate a drop down menu. Select the type of exception you wish to add to the log.
    3. Once you have selected the desired exception, please enter a note for why the exception was being used as well as the location.
    4. If you wish to remove the exception, simply click "remove".
  5. Completing an Edit
    1. Once you are satisfied with the edits made to your driver's logs, select the "send to driver" button in the top right corner. You can also cancel an edit from here with the "cancel edit" button.
    2. Until the edit has been accepted, there will be a message that reads, "an admin edit is pending driver's approval"
    3. Within minutes of selecting "send to driver", your driver will see a prompt on their app to accept or reject your administrative edits. Once they have accepted the edit, the logs for that day will update themselves and a banner reading "The log has been edited" will generate across the top of that date's screen.

If you are still having difficulties with this function, or if your drivers are unable to accept or reject your edits, please reach out to Maven Machines Support at 412-499-3877.
