Messages allow managers and drivers to quickly and easily communicate with each other via the Maven Fleet Portal and the Maven app. Managers can message individual drivers as well as multiple drivers. Managers initiate and respond to messages using the Maven Fleet Portal.
Only Mangers can initiate a new message. Drivers using the Maven app can only respond to messages sent to them by a manager. They cannot send new messages or responses to other drivers.
To initiate a message, log into the Maven Fleet Portal at manager.mavenmachines.com.
After logging in, select the Message icon on the top right of the screen.
On the Messages screen, in the left hand column, either select a previous recipient or select New Message at the top of that column.
Selecting New Message will allow you to send a message to an individual(s) who you haven't previously messaged. Select the individual(s) you want to message from the drop down menu under Add Recipients by clicking on their name(s). Scroll through the list to find the recipient(s) you want to message.
Clicking on the ^ to the right of the New Message button will allow you to select New Broadcast. This allows you to send the same message simultaneously to everyone you select. Select the individual(s) you want to message from the drop down menu under Add Recipients.
When a message is sent to a driver, in the Maven app he will be notified two ways:
1. A notification will appear at the top of the screen. Depending on how your company is configured, the notification will either time out and be automatically dismissed or the driver will need to manually dismiss it by selecting Dismiss.
2. A blue dot will also appear on the Messages icon at the bottom of the screen. Tapping on this icon will take him to the Messages screen where the new message will be in bold. Taping on the message itself will bring up the full message, where he can also respond.
When the driver responds, you will see his response if you are still on the Messages screen in the Maven Fleet Portal. If you are on a different screen, the Messages icon will be highlighted at the top right and will also indicate the number of unread messages. Click on this icon to be taken back to the Messages page.
